Who is Rural Action Yorkshire?
On 1 October 2008 Yorkshire Rural Community Council became Rural Action Yorkshire.  YRCC has been an independent organisation established in 1929 working with villages and smaller rural communities throughout North, West and South Yorkshire to help improve the quality of life of the people who live and work there.

Rural Action Yorkshire's Mission
Working in the three sub-regions of North, West and South Yorkshire to enable communities to improve the quality of life for all people living and working in rural Yorkshire.

What do we do?
Rural Action Yorkshire aims to ensure that rural issues and 'the rural voice' are heard, acknowledged and addressed by the decision and policy makers at all levels of government.

Rural Action Yorkshire works with local communities to recognise and develop the skills and knowledge that exists within the community.

By encouraging whole community involvement Rural Action Yorkshire aims to empower local people in order for them to be able to have an input into how their local area and services are best managed.

How do we do it?
Rural Action Yorkshire has a dedicated team of staff which is able to advice and support on a number of issues.

We work closely in partnership with other voluntary and statutory organisations.

We publish a seasonal newsletter called 'Country Air' which is packed full of information aimed at rural communities.

We provide a comprehensive timetable of conferences and training events on a number of topics.
